Here are some photos of our trip to see John Otway on his annual trip to Dunkerque. The trip was called the "Dodgy Dunkerque Trip" as Dodgy came along for the trip too. For Ian, Gareth, Vic and myself, it all started on a friday lunchtime at the Waterloo Arms. We then proceeded to drive up to Canterbury, spend the evening in a Wetherspoon's (drinking yummy beer), staying in a B&B that night. The next morning bright and early, we could be found outside a pub in Dunkirk, Kent - drinking some rather cold Hopback GFB. Finally, we boarded our coaches and headed off to Dunkerque, France. In one of the photos below, Otway can be seen 'scooting' up the aisle of the top deck of the coach.
On arriving at our hotel in France, we popped across the road to the supermarché, where we bought loads of cheese, pate and ham before returning to our hotel for a gorgeing session. I apologise for the lack of photos - something to do with me being busy eating yummy cheese.
Finally, we went to a gig in the evening; went back to the hotel; went to another gig the next day (with Otway taking a "paddle in the English Channel" break). After all the excitement, we headed back to the UK and hot-footed it back to where we started (yup, the Waterloo Arms) for some more GFB. What more can I say than "what an excellent weekend!"
